Gardai raid ‘steroid’ factory and seize more than 1,000 tablets

Gardai and other agencies have raided what they believe is an illegal steroid factory near Letterkenny.

It is understood that more than 1,000 tablets were recovered in the raid this morning.

Other equipment and medicines were seized during the operation.

Other agencies including the Health Products Regulatory Authority were also involved.

It is not understood that any arrests were made as part of the operation.

Last March more than €2 million worth of illegal steroids and other medicines in raids across Donegal today.

Over 60,000 vials labelled as containing anabolic steroids were found in a joint operation carried out by An Garda Síochána, Revenue and the Health Products Regulatory Authority.

The massive haul included human growth hormone and products indicated for erectile dysfunction were also detained in the seizures.
