Drivers are being warned to take extra care as snow falls across many parts of Donegal tonight.

Up to 4cms of snow is expected in northern counties including Donegal overnight.

A weather warning has been put in place and the risk of snow will stay in place until tomorrow night.

Temperatures will plunge to -2 overnight and will continue into tomorrow (Fri).

Temperatures are expected to rise again on Saturday but there will be more snow on the way on Sunday.

Donegal County Council’s fleet of gritters are out in force but drivers are being urged to take extra care.
