Ryan McKinley was a late appointment to the Naomh Colmcille hotseat in 2017 – but their magical journey will continue on into 2018 after today’s gritty win over Dunedin Connollys.

Yet again, Naomh Colmcille summonsed the courage and conviction for a narrow win on the big stage.

When it mattered, Ryan McErlean stepped up to wave the magic wand as the Donegal and Ulster champion booked a spot in the All-Ireland semi-final thanks to a 1-10 to 2-5 win in Edinburgh.

“In games of this magnitude, it’s all about getting over the line and winning,” McKinley said.

“The performance levels weren’t there, but the ground was frozen, the bus was late…We conceded a couple of soft goals, but we knew we’d get the chances and the boys really stood up.”
