Christmas spirit alive and well in Donegal as Michael’s fund passes €100,000!

We’re unashamedly plugging the campaign to get Letterkenny man Michael McGrath the vital cancer treatment he needs to survive.

Michael, 40, a father-of-one from Listillion needs €150,000 to get Immunotherapy treatment in Vienna.

With stage 4 bowel cancer, it’s his greatest chance of survival in a bid to spend the rest of his life with wife Susan and their little son Senan.

Last Sunday Michael’s heartbroken family launched a Go Fund Me page https://www.gofundme.com/a-future-for-michael in a bid to collect as many donations as they could to help pay for the treatment.

As well as donations, the family decided that they would remortgage their homes to get Michael his treatment.

But due to the generosity of Donegal people at home and abroad and everyone else, that goal is in sight.

By this morning the online fund had surpassed a staggering €103,000.

Michael jetted out to Vienna yesterday with sisters Mary and Bernadette to start his treatment as they can’t waste a minute such is the aggressive nature of this disease.

If you haven’t heard about Michael or haven’t had the chance to donate whatever you can, please do so know.

Be it a fiver or €500, go to his Go Fund Me page here https://www.gofundme.com/a-future-for-michael and please donate what you can.

Michael, Susan, little Senan and his entire family will be forever in your debt.

Thank you and Happy Christmas everyone.
