Snow joke! Bookies slash the odds on a white Christmas!

Donegal and the rest if Ireland could set for a white Christmas.

Leading bookie BoyleSports think so because they have frozen betting that we’ll see snow at Dublin Airport on Christmas day following a blizzard of bets.

Following this weekend’s snowfall, punters have piled on the cash.

This forced BoyleSports to slash their odds from 5/1 to 3/1 and betting was suspended to avoid a flurry of payouts at Christmas.

Aoife Heffron, spokeswoman for BoyleSports said many people this weekend’s big freeze may last until December 25th.

“Our traders decided to freeze the snow on Christmas Day market after a blizzard of bets came billowing in on Sunday. We’re in the midst of a big freeze and some punters suspect that it may last right up until the big day as they latched onto the 3/1 about snowfall at Dublin Airport on Christmas Day.

“Having shortened in from 5/1 to 3/1 and posing a large payout should we wake to a White Christmas , we have had to pull the plug on the market, for now. It will reopen once things begin to thaw.”
