Kelli Mc Grory’s debut single has skyrocketed to the top of the Irish country charts on iTunes!

The Fanad woman’s cover of the Nashville showstopper, Sanctuary, peaked at number one this week.

Soaring past Taylor Swift and Johnny Cash, Kelli says that she is overwhelmed by the reception.

“It’s really hard to believe,” she told Donegal Woman.

“It’s my first time releasing a song so I’m delighted with the response. I’m so grateful to everyone who downloaded it.”

She recorded the chart-topping song at Full Tilt Studios in Letterkenny with the help of Tommy Conway, with Mark McLean featuring on guitar.

“I’ve been recording with Tommy Conway for over a year now so decided to release a single as I felt it was the next step to take!”

Kelli is a Music and Irish teacher in Gairmscoil Chú Uladh, Ballinamore, and has been singing and playing various instruments including piano, violin, whistle and guitar from a young age.

To check out Kelli’s cover, you can listen to it on iTunes.
