Information sought following theft of tractor

Information is being sought following the alleged theft of a tractor in Mountcharles.

The Massey Ferguson 35x with a ZIH265 registration was taken from the Doorin Line area of Mountcharles between Wednesday and last night.

Owner James Murray says that as the tractor is not running at the minute, it would have needed to have been loaded on to a trailer to be taken.

“It’s not running at the minute as it needs an injector pump so whoever stole it would need to replace this to get it running again. Its value is approximately €4,000 but with injector replaced it could be sold for more,” he told Donegal Daily.

It was stolen from a yard at the side of a house at the end of a long lane, so James thinks it may have been stolen at night.

The tractor can be identified by its rare type of cab which makes it distinct from other 35x models.

If you spotted anything suspicious in Mountcharles between Wednesday and last night, or if you spot a Massey Ferguson 35x for sale under suspicious circumstances then please do not hesitate to contact Donegal Town Gardaí on 074 9740190.

You can also contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.
