Pupils of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, Letterkenny carried on their tradition of Christmas carol singing with great success this year.

The primary school girls brought Christmas cheer to Letterkenny last Thursday (Dec 14th) to raise funds for their local St Vincent de Paul.

Groups of 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils sang Christmas carols all around the town, including The Hospital, Dunnes, Tesco, Glencar and Main Street.

Their efforts raised an impressive €1,680 for SVP at a vital time for the charity. The singers presented their total to St Vincent de Paul representatives Mrs. Sadie Dawson and Mrs Mary Bradley this week.

This tradition of Carol Singing for local charity began when the school opened in the late 1950’s and proudly continues to this day.

St Vincent de Paul representatives Mrs. Sadie Dawson and Mrs Mary Bradley receive a cheque from Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál Carol Singers.
