Pedestrian killed after being struck by car in early hours

A pedestrian was fatally injured in the early hours of this morning when he was struck by a car.

The incident occurred at Sandhill, Dunfanaghy, at approximately 4:15am this morning.

The pedestrian, a man in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the car; a male driver and two female passengers, were unharmed.

The Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene.

The road will remain closed to facilitate the Garda investigation.
