A family-run Ballyshannon craft company has announced it is to close with the loss of 13 jobs.

Celtic Weave China, a specialist pottery firm which has been in operation since 1985, is to cease trading following an announcement this week.

The company is run by directors Tommy and Patricia Daly.

The current Celtic Weave team is the fourth generation of the Daly Family to reach the level of Master Craftsmen.

The product line includes woven baskets and giftware, all uniquely crafted and handpainted by Patricia.

In a statement, the directors say the company is not going into liquidation, and that all liabilities will be settled, including statutory redundancy payments due to staff.

Celtic Weave China was also the designer of select products by Tiffany & Co.
