Greencastle let a three-goal lead slip and bowed out of the FAI Junior Cup after extra time in Dungarvan.

Greencastle 3 Dungarvan 4 (after extra time)

Greencastle’s long trip to Dungarvan got off to a great start James Henry put them ahead in the first minute Christy Hegarty made it 2-0 before half time,

Nigel McMonagle added a third in the second half and Greencastle keeper Dylan Doherty saved a penalty but things started going wrong for the Inishowen side.

Dungarvan got a two goals back but it looked like Greencastle had held on until the referee awarded a dubious penalty in the 90th minute and Dungarvan made it 3-3 to send the game into extra time.

Dungarvan went 4-3 ahead in extra time and held on to advance to the last 16 of the competition.
