Two men are to appear in court today charged in connection with an alleged car-jacking in Letterkenny yesterday.

A woman was allegedly confronted outside a supermarket in the town and had her car taken from her in broad daylight.

The culprits then sped off out of the town in the direction of Ballybofey.

However, Gardai pursued the vehicle and the men were eventually apprehended in the Dromore area outside of the town.

It is understood that a Garda car was damaged during the pursuit and detention of the alleged culprits.

Tow men are expected to appear in court in Sligo today charged in connection with the incident.
