Dungloe’s Matthew McCole advanced to the light-welterweight final at the National U22 Championships in Dublin.

McCole (above, right) will meet a familiar foe, Monkstown’s Kenneth Doyle, in next Saturday’s final at the National Stadium.

McCole defeated Aaron Daly from Castlebar on a split decision to move into the decider.

The Dungloe ace will now meet Doyle, who defeated him in controversial circumstances at the National Seniors in November.

Convoy welterweight Bryan McNamee list out to Michael Avetisian from Glasnevin in a semi-final yesterday.

On Friday night, McNamee defeated Patrick McConigley from Letterkenny at the quarter-final phase.

Dungloe bantamweight Fionan Rodgers was stopped in the third round by John Paul Hale in their semi, while Ciara Craig of Dunfanaghy lost out to Dearbhla Rooney.
