Fourteen years ago, Maxi Curran led the Donegal ladies to an All-Ireland Junior title.

Curran has taken the scenic route to retuning to the ladies’ hotseat as he prepares, alongside Damian Devaney, to lead them into 2018.

Curran has no doubt that the talent is in Donegal to make it a successful year.

“It’s a golden era for this team,” the Downings clubman said.

“I felt the time is right. They were very close last year. They had a brilliant Ulster campaign and hopes were high going into the All-Ireland campaign.

“I was lucky to have a good run with the boys and that becomes addictive. This team ticks all the boxes. They are hugely committed, are very hungry and have massive talent.”
