A selection of east Donegal’s brainiest students took part in the Lifford Credit Union School’s Quiz on Friday.

The winning teams will now put their heads together for the Regional Finals in March, before 100 teams of four children from across the country will battle it out for the National titles in April.

The U13 category was won by Odhran Feney, Aisling Doherty, Emma Tinney and Kelsey Coll proudly representing St. Baithins, St. Johnston.

Raphoe Central National School scooped second place in the U13 category, with Ryan McCauley, Alex Lowery, Alex Walker and Sam McBeth scoring highly.

Representing St Patrick’s, Murlog, was Senan Gleeson, Jack Lines, Odhran Dooher and Jade Duffy, who secured third place in the U13 category.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal scooped the gold in the U11 category with Ace Rodrigues, Cody Connelly, Grace Gibson and Sarah Friel impressing the judges with their fantastic score.

Securing second place in the U11 category was Scoil Colmcille, represented by Adam Whoriskey, Lilly Ella Dillion, Mia McFadden, and Erin O’Donnell.

Aine Gallagher, Rosea Doherty, Gavin Rutherford, and Jamie Bogule did St Patrick’s proud by winning the bronze in the U11 category.
