Illies Golden Gloves host boxing tournament tonight in Burnfoot

Illies Golden Gloves are staging a major tournament tonight in the Halfway House, Burnfoot.

Boxing gets underway at 8.30pm in the Duffy Motors-sponsored event.

Rising young ace Chloe McDaid is among the bouts as she faces Ciara Craig from Dunfanaghy in a Junior 1 60kgs bout.

All-rounder Caroline Gallagher will face Paula Gallagher from the Sean McDermott club in a senior 63kgs contest.

In October, Gallagher – who was a also a member of the Donegal senior ladies GAA panel and the Illies Celtic senior ladies side last year – won an Ulster Female Novices title in Belfast as she defeated Laura Smith from Lisburn.
