Council gritters out at 7pm as snow forecast across Donegal tonight

A further night of snow is forecast for across Donegal tonight with temperatures set to plunge again.

Many parts of the county were hit by a huge flurry of snow on Tuesday night last.

And Met Eireann is forecasting that accumulations of the white stuff is set for Donegal from 9pm tonight.

Donegal County Council is set to grit routes from 7pm onwards.

The following is the official forecast from Met Eireann for Ulster for tonight.

Tonight

Widespread showers will develop overnight and will be wintry with some snow accumulations, frost, icy stretches and a risk of thunder. Temperatures will drop to -2 to +1 degrees

Tomorrow

A frosty start to Friday morning. Otherwise tomorrow will be bright and cold with wintry showers becoming more isolated and many places having long dry periods. Highs of 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in blustery northwesterly winds.
