A major broadband outage has stuck Inishowen this evening, affecting 9,500 customers.

The outage is affecting several different providers, namely Eir and Pure Telecom.

In a statement to Donegal Daily, Pure Telecom says that they are working to repair the fault as quickly as possible.

“The outage in Donegal is currently affecting around 9,500 customers,” a spokesperson says.

“The network have forecast for this to be resolved by 9pm this evening but due to the extent of the outage this is not guaranteed.

“They are working on it at present and will have it fixed as quickly as possible.

“Unfortunately, we do not have any further updates at the moment.”

Quigley’s Point is believed to be the worst struck area for broadband outages.

Donegal Daily has also contacted Eir for a service update.
