Yvonne Bonner was in scintillating form yesterday, scoring 3-6 as the Donegal ladies defeated Westmeath in Derrylin.

A 9-17 to 1-5 win was certainly some way for Donegal to get a first League win of 2018.

“You want to be winning when you’re working on different things so hopefully we can settle into it now,” Bonner said.

“We showed the depth and strength of the bench. We still finished brilliantly. Hopefully we can push on from here.”

Bonner had a deeper role than usual yesterday, but said:  “I had to move out a wee bit there. It’s not really where you play. You just play the game. It’s whatever works on a different day.”
