Watch: Cian Mulligan inspires Gaoth Dobhair to Ulster U21 glory

Cian Mulligan returned from a quad injury to inspire Gaoth Dobhair to glory in yesterday’s Paddy McLarnon Memorial Under-21 Football Championship final.

The Magheragallon men defeated Lavey 4-7 to 0-6 with Mulligan, a pre-match doubt because of his injury, netting three of the Gaoth Dobhair goals. Eamon Colum had bagged the opening goal after just five minutes.

Beaten semi-finalists in the competition last year, there was no stopping Gaoth Dobhair this time around.

“It feels great,” Mulligan said.

“We worked hard for the past ten or 11 years with the same management. We stuck at it and it’s all paying off.

“We had a plan at the start to stop them coming in. They couldn’t break us down and we stuck to the plan.”
