Ireland’s Got Talent viewers floored by Donegal farmer’s jaw-dropping transformation

Donegal farmer Martin McGuinness has blown away viewers of Ireland’s Got Talent after his jaw-dropping on-stage transformation into the glitzy Scarlet Rose.

The 51-year-old, who is originally from Belfast but has lived in Ardara since the ’80s, appeared before judges Louis Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Michelle Visage and Jason Byrne on tonight’s broadcast of the popular talent show.

Martin fancies himself as a bit of a singer, and took to the stage in the hopes that the judges would see that talent too!

Before he began his performance, he invited the judges to chat amongst themselves for a few minutes while he skipped off stage to prepare.

Clad in weelies, a flat cap, and a large coat – he seemed to be dressed just like any other farmer… but wait!

The judges were floored when Martin returned as the fabulous drag queen, Scarlet Rose!

Unfortunately for Scarlet Rose, the judges weren’t impressed by her rendition of Cilla Black’s ‘You’re My World’, with Louis, Denise and Michelle pressing their red button soon after the performance began.

Wanting to hear more, Jason tried to protect his red buzzer from being pressed by Denise.

As he struggled, Jason’s foot struck the golden buzzer – meaning that Scarlet Rose is automatically through to the semi-finals.

“Jason I love you my darling,” Scarlet Rose exclaimed as golden confetti showered the stage.

Jason then got up on stage alongside Scarlet Rose and laughed “fate just landed me on the button!”

Martin first got involved in the drag scene after visiting the lavish Madame JoJo piano bar in London over thirty years ago in 1986. Martin’s fabulous alter ego has performed in Turkey and Egypt, as well as all the London hot spots.

Now living in Donegal, Martin and his brother run a 25-acre farm in Ardara.

Scarlet Rose has done a lot of charity events, and loves entertaining and singing.

We can’t wait to see what Martin has in store for the semi-finals!
