Warnings have been issued of ‘mini snow storms’ breaking out across Donegal this evening and over the next few days.
It comes as parts of Inishowen experienced such heavy falls within the past hour.
Parts of Greencastle and Redcastle are now under a blanket of snow after a sudden and then prolonged fall of heavy snow just before 6pm.
People have been warned to take extra care if making long journeys this evening.
They have been warned to ensure to make sure their phones are charged in the event that they must call for help.
A Garda spokesman said “People should heed all warnings and to take a common sense approach to the current weather situation.”
