A recent Farmers’ Auction has raised an udderly great amount for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.

Over 200 people attended the fundraiser in the Halfway House Burnfoot which was organised by Bernie Duffy from Lisfannon. There were all sorts of lots on sale – from chickens to sheep – and it was a lively night for all with prizes and music by the High Heels band.

Bernie organised this event on February 3rd to give back to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, where she was treated as a baby, and it has always been a place that’s close to her heart.

The incredible €10,000 fundraising total from the auction will go a long way to help children in need.

Bernie added: “This wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for anyone who I mentioned, and with over 200 people who attended the event, I can say for anyone who was there it was a great night’s craic.

“I will never forget the kindness of people who have sponsored and donated to this event.

“A lot of work went into this event but I enjoyed every minute of it and it was all worth it for the hospital. For this event to make that amount of money I still smile when people mention the event and how well it did. I think on what that money could do now for those children, seeing it for myself, those children deserve it all,” she said.
