An unexpected burst water main in the Muff area has occurred this morning (Wednesday), leaving homes and businesses without supplies.

Properties in the areas of Grove Cottages, Kilderry, Craig and Muff have been impacted by the burst.

An Irish Water notice says that repair works are ongoing. It is estimated that supplies will be restored by 4pm today.

Mayor of Inishowen Jack Murray has shared the following update:  “I’ve spoken to the local engineer and have been informed that a crew is currently working to locate the burst and restore the service asap.”
