Donegal hurlers preserved their Division 2B status as Declan Coulter returned to haunt his home county, Armagh.

Armagh 1-17 Donegal 2-17

Coulter netted a goal in each half as Donegal built on the wins over Derry and Down with another impressive display at the Athletic Grounds.

Coulter netted his first goal after fetching Davin Flynn’s pass to steer home.

Coulter had been a Nicky Rackard All-Star winner in Armagh’s colours and he netted again four minutes into the second half. This time, Coulter drilled home a penalty.

Spare a thought for David Carvill, who posted 1-12 for the beaten Orchard side.

Lee Henderson was again prolific for Donegal, landing nine points, but it was Coulter’s brace that proved the difference.

Scorers for Donegal: Lee Henderson 0-9 (5f),Declan Coulter 2-1 (1-0pen), Bernard Lafferty 0-2, Gerard Gilmore, Danny Cullen, Davin Flynn, Ciaran Matthewson 0-1 each
