Calls for Letterkenny to get ‘transport hub’

Calls have been made for Letterkenny to get a ‘transport hub’.

Councillor Ciaran Brogan proposed at this week’s meeting of the Letterkenny Municipal District that the Council make contact with the National Transport Agency.

Councillor Brogan has suggested that the NTA be invited to Letterkenny with a view to addressing the infrastructure needs of the town and to discuss the possibility of a transport hub.

In response the Council says it will issue the invitation.

Councillor Brogan pointed to the lack of adequate facilities at the busy bus stop beside the former Oatfield site, which is serviced by a number of private bus operators.

He said it was imperative for the town to get a transport hub with sufficient facilities for users.
