Listen: Declan Bonner keeps faith in Donegal’s style and system ahead of Monaghan trip

Declan Bonner says Donegal won’t be changing their style or their system any time soon – and the Donegal boss remains hopeful his side can avoid relegation.

The next two Sundays bring huge games for Donegal in the quest to preserve their Division 1 status with an away game at Monaghan this Sunday followed by a clash with Mayo in Ballybofey.

After last weekend’s defeat to Tyrone in Omagh, Donegal are clinging on at the basement.

“We won’t change the style or the system,” Bonner said ahead of this weekend’s trip to Clones.

“We are strong going forward. We have to be more clinical and take the chances when they arrive.

“Without the ball, we have to become better as a unit. We can’t give the ball away as cheaply as we did last weekend.”

After a disappointing second half against Tyrone, Bonner knows his men have to up the ante.

He said: “It’s another big match for us. We’ll need an improved display. It won’t be easy and it’ll be another difficult match.”
