Brave Donegal boy’s 999 call to feature in reality documentary series

The emergency case of a local mother and son will be heard on TV3’s new series of Ireland’s Paramedics this week.

During a real-life incident, the 999 National Emergency Operations Centre in Donegal took a call from a boy after his mother collapsed.

Call operators talked the panicked boy through the incident, asking relevant questions in a calm way and language best suited to a child.  As the boy’s mother begins to seize uncontrollably, it is vital that the emergency call taker identifies the mother’s needs as the ambulance is dispatched.

Cameras will be closely following this incident on TV3’s critically acclaimed series, Ireland’s Paramedics, which will return to screens tomorrow night, Thursday 29th March at 9pm.

The documentary series is the continuing story of the men and women of the HSE National Ambulance Service. Also in the opening episode, viewers will see the last known recorded footage of Rescue 116 , filmed just three weeks prior to the tragic loss of the helicopter and crew off the west coast of Ireland last year.
