Boardwalk access to be installed to aid disabled access at Downings Beach

Donegal County Council has confirmed that it is currently seeking quotes for the construction of a boardwalk access to Downings beach.

Councillor John O’Donnell, at this month’s meeting of the Letterkenny Municipal District, raised the matter.

Councillor O’Donnell had previously tabled a motion in respect of a boardwalk at the beach in Downings in order to ‘assist disabled people to access the beach’.

In response, the Council said it was seeking quotes and added: “Disabled access remains available to the beach, with An Taisce approval, via the vehicular path”.
