Inishowen artist Tanya McColgan has made a kind donation to benefit children and parents of the Western Trust Children’s Ward in Altnagelvin Hospital.

Tanya McColgan (Art of Inishowen) recently presented a beautiful scenic painting of Shroove Lighthouse, Co Donegal to the Western Trust at Altnagelvin Hospital following a charity raffle.

The Redcastle woman gifted the painting worth £500 to Children in Crossfire as a raffle draw prize. The fundraising raffle collected hundreds of pounds in support of children in poverty around the world and closer to home in Ireland and the UK.

The winner of the raffle, Jackie O’Neill, decided to donate the painting to the Children’s Ward for the enjoyment of the children and their parents.

Tanya presented the painting to the Children’s ward along with Shauna Taylor from Children in Crossfire. The donation was accepted by Cathy Grady; Sr Hazel Gallo; Mary McKenna, Assistant Director; Kieran Downey, Director of Women and Children’s Services and Sr Yvonne Devenney.  Lena McCaughey and her son John, who receives treatment on the Children’s Ward, were also present.
