Walcott: “When you think of Everton he’s the first man you think about”

Everton attacker Theo Walcott has praised Seamus Coleman after the Toffees’ 1-0 win over Newcastle United last night.

Walcott netted the winner as Everton climbed to eighth in the table.

Coleman, who returned from 11 months out with a fractured leg earlier this year, was again a bagful of energy for Everton.

With Newcastle chasing an equaliser in the latter stages, Coleman superbly headed clear a Jacob Murphy cross to help seal the win.

“That diving header from Seamus was unbelievable. It sums him up,” Walcott said.

“He’s played at the highest level for so long. He’s a fantastic professional and a great character in the dressing room.

“When you think of Everton he’s the first man you think about.”
