Castle Grove Country House Hotel outside Letterkenny are set to host a wonderful New Zealand Wine Pairing Gourmet Dinner on Thursday May 24th. Here is a taster of what’s in store for this special event:

Castle Grove Country House welcomes Mr. James Leary, owner of the legendary Snapper Rock Vineyard in New Zealand to Castle Grove, Donegal for an evening not to be missed by food and wine lovers alike.

Building on Castle Grove’s food experience, the chefs will create a beautiful food pairing of Donegal’s finest dishes with wines selected from Snapper Rock vineyard.

The wine for each course will be expertly introduced and explained by Mr. Leary himself, plus, he will give an introduction and history on his work at Snapper Rock and Ward Valley Wine Estates in Marlborough, New Zealand.

Castle Grove works closely with MCM wines, based in BallyShannon, a longstanding supporter of Donegal Food Events and the promotion of food tourism in Donegal.

We are thrilled to work with MCM again to bring you this fantastic opportunity to enjoy a wonderful evening, and meet and learn from the wine expert Mr. Leary himself, right here in Castle Grove.

“It is through collaboration with other providers that we can offer a truly superior product to the people of Donegal and our visitors”, says Karoline Sweeney, General Manager, who will be speaking at the “creating your food story” seminar hosted by the Local Enterprise Office.

To whet your appetite for next month’s event, please see some of the fabulous dishes presented at our Bordeaux Night last October.
