Castlefin maintained their push for the title after a hard fought victory over Cappry Rovers this afternoon.

Castlefin Celtic 4 Cappry Rovers 1

The home side took the lead when a Ronan Tourish shot crashed off the crossbar and Shane Gallagher pounced to head home in the 20th minute.

The hosts doubled their lead when Jp Malley capitalised on a mistake to double his side’s advantage.

The hosts did well to soak up some Cappry pressure and increased their lead when a Simon Mc Glinchey through ball found Ian Ward who slotted home in the 40th minute.

In the second  half Gallagher got his second after he rounded the keeper and slotted home in the 60th minute. Darren O Leary pulled one back for the visitors but it proved too little too late.

Best for Castlefinn – Shane Gallagher. Best for Cappry – team performance

Referee: Paddy Duffy
