A warning has been issued after a series of individuals have been reported pretending to be council workers in the South Donegal area.
The bogus callers have claiming to be Donegal County Council staff and calling to homes in the area under the pretence of checking attics and boilers.
The council is calling for extra vigilance and is asking people to look out for their neighbours:
A spokesperson said: “We wish to advise that Council staff will always carry an ID card and if any member of the public is in any doubt they should check with the Council by calling 074 91 53900.
“We would urge all members of the public to be extra vigilant especially older people and people living on their own.”
