Two Donegal students have been presented with top awards in this year’s 64th Texaco Children’s Art Competition.

Pictured is thirteen-year-old Aimee Sheridan, a pupil at Loreto Convent Letterkenny, who won a Special Merit Award in the competition.
Another Donegal winner, who also received a Special Merit Award at the ceremony held in Dublin recently, was seven-year-old Keila Baldemor from Letterkenny.
With an annual entry of up to 50,000 paintings, the Texaco Children’s Art Competition is one that has touched the lives of virtually every family in Ireland at some time or another throughout its lifetime.
The Texaco Children’s Art Competition has been running since 1955 and some of the award winners through the years have gone on to achieve massive success. Namely, former TD Ruairi Quinn, artist Dorothy Cross, fashion designer Paul Costello and writer Clare Boylan.
