Staff and Management at Kernans Tullygay Newmills rolled up their sleeves on Saturday past to raise a massive €1250 for Relay For Life Donegal.

The Kernan Group have entered a team into Relay for Life Donegal 2018, with events taking place across all their stores for the entire month of May, in the lead up to the main event on the 2nd and 3rd of June.

This charity car wash event kickstarted Team Kernans, Relay For Life drive for 2018.

The fundraiser, held on Saturday the 5th of May, was well supported and the staff volunteered their own time and washed over 200 cars between them.

Generous donations were also received from locals who were popping into Kernans for some shopping. Manager of Kernans Tullygay, Laura McFadden, said “We are very grateful to the community for coming out in droves to support us, it was an amazing turnout”.

“We want to give a special thanks to James Browne of Gortlee Tool Hire, Stephen Lawne of Lawnes motor factors and Sean Bonner of Bonner plant hire for the lend of their equipment and thanks to everyone for coming out to support us today. I would also like to thank all my staff and friends who give up their time today to support Relay For Life, it was a tireless effort from them all”.

Other Events Planned this Month at Kernans For Relay For Life

For the entire month of May we have teamed up with the Community Recycling Initiative. We are asking our customers & staff across Donegal to donate one bag of unwanted clothes to your local Kernans store, which will be turned into cash and donated to Relay For Life by our partners at the Community Recycling Initiative.

On Friday the 25th of May, Kernans will be donating €1 for every hot beverage purchased at our stores across Donegal, between 10am and 12pm to Relay For Life, so call in for the best coffee on the road and support this great cause.

We are also hosting a coffee morning at our Diners in Drumkeen & Newtowncunningham on the 30th of May.

For the entire Month of May you will be able to donate to Relay For Life, by placing your loose change into a charity box in all Kernans stores at the checkout counter.

Keep up to speed with all Kernans events and activities on social media, in store and online as Team Kernans kickstart Relay For Life 2018. Visit www.kernans.online
