St Safan’s NS, Doneyloop, Castlefinn students flew the flag for Donegal at the Pangea Maths Olympics held at Dublin’s Trinity College at the weekend.
Leanne, Sarah, Hannah (6th class) and Bridget (5th class) from Mrs Naomi McCormick’s class all qualified for the final of the prestigious competition.
The competition is held in 18 different European countries and the Irish competition is run in conjunction with The Educational Society of Ireland.
Only a small number of entrants qualify for the final so the Donegal pupils were delighted to have made it all the way to the final!
“These girls are great representatives for our school. We would also like to thank their parents for arranging to take them to Dublin to represent our school. Everyone in the school is very proud,
“The girls were in the last 20 for their age grouping of 5th and 6th class so all four were presented with certificates for this achievement in Trinity yesterday,” said a spokesperson for the school.
