The staff of AIB across Donegal are delighted to support ‘Darkness Into Light’ and ‘Pieta House Northwest’.

Staff have described it as a wonderful initiative and such a deserving cause.

A total amount of €2,150 was raised for Pieta House by AIB staff across Donegal. With the support of many customers, they held a coffee morning on Friday March 11th and raised €1,250 for Pieta House Northwest.

AIB staff took part in ‘Darkness Into Light’ in five different locations across Co. Donegal, €900 was also donated to Pieta House via ‘Darkness Into Light’ initiative.

More than 200,000 people ran, jogged or walked in the ‘Darkness Into Light’ events across the country last Saturday in the early hours of the morning.

The aim of Pieta House is to improve our understanding of suicide and deliberate self-harm. They also work alongside people to try and help them in any way that they can.

Since Pieta House opened its doors in 2006, they have helped over 30,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm. They have also established twelve subsequent centres across Ireland.
