Listen: David McGeady reflects on Aileach’s Buncrana Credit Union Cup triumph

Aileach manager David McGeady praised his ‘excellent’ side after they overcame Glengad in yesterday’s Buncrana Credit Union Cup final at Maginn Park.

Darren McMonagle’s goal in the 31st minute was the only separator as the Lakeside men added the Credit Union Cup to their Ulster Junior Cup success.

“We got the all important one, but we had three massive chances in the first half that we didn’t take,” McGeady said.

“There was always a threat from Glengad. It’s a threat they’ve carried for four years and that won’t stop, but we were excellent today. We used the ball and kept the ball very well.”

Already, Aileach have ensured that 2017/18 is the club’s best ever season, but they have a chance to make it better still as they face Glengad in next Sunday’s Charlie O’Donnell Cup final.
