Donegal County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland has agreed to organise another round of drop-ins of public consultation on all three TenT routes including the Ballybofey-Stranorlar bypass 6 route proposal.

The move has been welcomed by Cllr Patrick McGowan.

Clr McGowan had called on the TII and Donegal Co Council to agree to an additional round of consultation at a meeting of the full Council in Lifford.

He said “It is quite obvious that a lot of people most affected by these routes were not aware of the selected routes and it is important that they are given every opportunity to give their opinion on the various routes.”

He added that consideration should be given in future for large National projects such as this to writing to all households on the voting register in the town-lands affected.

“I am waiting on a written response from senior TII management to a list of questions sent to them following our public meeting in Jackson Hotel on Thurs 3rd May, answers to all questions will be made public when received,” said Cllr McGowan.
