Are you 14-24 years old?  Not in full time education, employment or training? Nothing to do in the summer? Unsure of what to do next?  The Donegal Youth Service is inviting participants to join Youthscape in Letterkenny or Ballybofey this June, and you can gain new skills and make new friends.

Take the next step in your life with this exciting new cross-border initiative.  The only entry requirement is that you are ready to try something new.

Why do it?  You will gain OCN Level 1 Qualifications, there will be educational and fun day trips, as well as fun activities and projects in the local community.  Participants will create a personal development plan unique to them, and their goals. They will also receive one-to-one guidance and support for 6 weeks before it begins, as well as during, and also after the programme ends. Finally, there will be refreshments provided each day, as well as support with travel and childcare costs.

The programme will focus on 3 key areas; Firstly Personal Development, which consists of exploring your well-being, and your mental and physical health.  Secondly, Good Relations, which works on respect for diversity which will involve crossborder trips, and finally the Active Citizenship Project which puts team work skills into practice.

The programme takes place 3 days a week in both Letterkenny and Ballybofey for 16 weeks.  The project is ongoing, so participants can join at any time, however the next official starting date is in June 2018.  So if you’re not sure what you want to do next, what you are going to do during the summer, or where you are going then get in touch now and see what Youthscape can do for you.

The Youthscape programme is a cross-border, cross-community interventionist programme developed in association with South West College, as Lead Partner, Donegal Youth Service and TIDES Training. It will operate in Counties Tyrone, Fermanagh and Donegal covering the 5 areas of Omagh, Enniskillen, Dungannon, Ballybofey and Letterkenny.

For more information about the Youthscape project contact Ciara/Jackie/Yvonne on 085 2578223 for Letterkenny, or Caroline/Breege/Yvonne on 085 2578222 for Ballybofey.  You can also contact the Donegal Youth Service office on (074) 91 29630, or via email admin@donegalyouthservice.ie

Youthscape supports 14-24 year olds from all backgrounds.  This project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).  Match-funding for the project has been provided by the Northern Ireland Executive and the Department for Children and Youth Affairs in Ireland.
