Cricket – St Johnston undone by one of their own in Senior Cup

St Johnston bowed out of the Bank of Ireland Senior Cup today after a five-wicket loss to Premiership side Brigade.

The Saints were in to bat first and were put all out for 113 runs in 41 overs.

They were undone by one of their own with Ryan Macbeth (pictured) – son of St Johnston captain Ian – claiming three of the wickets.

Macbeth helped take out his brother Jack, Rammohan Goud and Nathan Cole.

David Macbeth registered 48 runs for St Johnston before he was bowled lbw by Kyle Magee with Goud scoring eight.

Opener David Barr made 36 for Brigade as St Johnston faired okay with the ball, but Brigade still made 117. The only surprise, perhaps, was St Johnston claimed five wickets.
