Monica Ramsey, Marketing Officer with the Finn Valley Centre and member of the FVCHF said ‘This event initially began four years ago as part of the Feelgood Fortnight initiative which was championed by the Finn Valley Positive Mental Health Group, supported by the Finn Valley Centre. Since that time it has grown year on year, from a modest 17 stands in year one to almost 80 this year, such is the interest.  The businesses and groups taking part are all giving their time free and there will be something for everyone at the event. All are encouraged to come along to this free event’

The FVCHF was set up in 2006 as part of the National re-organisation of local Health Services Executive (HSE) primary care services. Its vision is ‘To ensure a fair, equal and inclusive primary care system in the Finn Valley’. It encompasses the geographical areas of a Cloghan, Stranorlar, Ballybofey, Convoy, Drumkeen and Killygordon. The forum receives a small amount of grant aid from the HSE under Social Inclusion, with additional funding being secured from other agencies to ensure quality provision for voluntary agencies, organisations and groups to come together to work on Health & Social issues affecting people across the Finn Valley area.

Leah Fairman of Ballybofey & Stranorlar Chamber of Commerce and member, of the FVCHF said ‘Our community is at its best when businesses and community groups work together, and this event highlights the fantastic teamwork that happens between everyone in the towns all year round.’
