Expect to see much more of Shay Given across your TV screens in the coming weeks

Shay Given has been announced as one of a host of pundits that will be covering the World Cup for RTÉ this summer.

Given has previously analysed matches for Sky Sports as well as making multiple appearances on Match of the Day.

The Lifford native has been praised by many football observers for his detailed work on the goalkeeping side of the game as well as giving his years of knowledge on defensive set-ups.

Given will be joined in the studio by regulars Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady, Didi Haman, Richie Sadlier and Damien Duff.

Keith Andrews, Richard Dunne, Michael O’Neill and Hope Solo will be also be offering analysis for RTÉ during the tournament.

Darragh Maloney, Peter Collins and Jacqui Hurley will be on presenting duty.

With commentary coming from George Hamilton, Ger Canning, Adrian Eames, John Kenny, Stephen Alkin Hugh Cahill, Ronnie Whelan, Jim Beglin, Ray Houghton and Brian Kerr.

Given will be spending the tournament among some of Ireland’s most well-known sport stars. RTÉ are set to cover all 64 World Cup games beginning on the 15th of June.
