Donegal school to host Special Olympics Torch Run

Dooish National School outside Ballybofey has been selected to receive a visit from Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement torch run in the build-up to the Ireland Games.

This Law Enforcement Torch Run will take place prior to LETR members lighting the Flame of Hope at the Opening Ceremony which takes place in Tallaght Stadium next Thursday 14th June.

The torch will arrive at Dooish N.S. on Wednesday 13th June at noon and all our School Community is invited to attend.

The Games will take place from Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th June 2018 in venues all over Dublin and surrounding counties.

These include the National Sports Campus – Special Events National Aquatic Centre National Indoor Arena, FAI Pitches, Morton Stadium, Leisureplex, Blanchardstown, Cherry Orchard Equestrian Centre Royal Meath Pitch & Putt Club, St Margaret’s Golf and Country Club, Salmon Leap Canoe Club, Leixlip, SeaPoint – Open Water Swimming & Irish Wheelchair Association, Clontarf.

During the games, various cultural and entertainment events will be organised, providing delegations, families and the general public a true Olympics-style event.
