Social media was full of praise for Donegal after a superb performance saw them ease to an Ulster SFC semi-final win over Down.

Optimism has risen among Donegal supporters again after another fine afternoon at the office.

Professional boxer Jason Quigley was among the Donegal faithful at St Tiernach’s Park.

“How good was @officialdonegal today with 14men for nearly full game , looked great and finished great , roll on Ulster final,” Quigley tweeted.

Today Michael Murphy did a "soccer style" double dragback inside half an hour of an Ulster semi-final when his team were down to 14 men. There's nothing he can't do #Donegal #gaa

Paddy McBrearty, Michael Murphy & Jamie Brennan, Donegal have a full forward line to match anyone’s in the country absolutely lethal #TheSundayGame

2nd Donegal goal today , pure class , pace and vision of Ryan Mchugh , one of the best ballers in the business #SundayGame

Declan Bonner had three years as Donegal manager from 1998 to 2000. Won two Ulster Championship games. Has already won three this year.

Some serious running off the ball and energy in the Donegal performance today. The kids are alright, it bodes well. Jamie Brennan looks at ease in the shirt now as well. Fermanagh will be fired up- should be a good final.

From watching those highlights on BBC Donegal look like a different animal from the league, hugely hungry. Will watch them closely this year

Donegal has hit 6-58 in three @UlsterGAA championship games. Say what you like about the quality of the opposition but it’s some scoring. #SundayGame

— John Fox (@foxymm12) June 10, 2018

Would love to see donegal at full strength. Seriously dangerous team on paper #SundayGame

Down poor enough but donegal look class in this game, some unreal scores and Ryan McHugh back to his best 🏐

I’ve never commentated on a game where it was over after 21 minutes, feel gutted for Down, tough to take. Donegal untouchable. They’ve scored 6.58 in three C’ship games. Operating on a different level. Capable of making AI Final. pic.twitter.com/yH3Ajv6ih9
