Things are looking up as hot weather to return this weekend

Summer will be making another appearance in Ireland soon with hot and sunny days on the way for the weekend and into next week.

We may not be seeing the same highs as the recent scorching exam-time weather, but Donegal is expected to bask in pleasant temperatures of low 20s this Saturday and Sunday.

It may be time to bring out the BBQ again as warm weather is moving across Ireland from Friday onwards. Sunshine will come on Friday, with temperatures of 15-19 degrees Celsius.

Met Eireann forecasters said: “Next weekend will be dry and fine with warm sunny weather prevailing. Inland temperatures are likely to get well into the twenties. It will stay a bit fresher near coasts due to sea breezes.”

The outlook for next week is positive too.

Forecasters said: “Current indications are that it will be warm or very warm for the first half of next week and that it will continue dry and settled.”

Before this sunny spell, we can expect typical light rain, cool temperatures and light winds. Chilly nights are in store on Wednesday and Thursday.
