A group of Australian travel agents are enjoying a fact-finding visit to Donegal and Ireland this week as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Australian Pacific Touring (APT), a leading tour operator.
The travel agents all won the opportunity to travel to here – and to try out the brand new ATP island of Ireland tour.
Their itinerary included a visit to the Slieve League Cliffs and lunch in the Tí Linn café. The group also enjoyed an overnight stay in Lough Eske Castle.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Donegal and Ireland to this group of top Australian travel agents,” said Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Australia.
“There is really no substitute for being able to come here and experience what Ireland has to offer at first-hand. Our aim is that when these travel agents return home, they will be better informed and really enthusiastic about the destination, which will in turn help to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland.”
In 2017, we welcomed around 208,000 visitors from Australia and New Zealand, an increase of +2% on 2017. Tourism Ireland has an extensive programme of promotions under way again this year, to ensure that success continues.
