The Twitter reaction to Donegal’s Ulster final win over Fermanagh

Donegal won a ninth Ulster title in some style today – outscoring Fermanagh by 12 points in sweltering St Tiernach’s Park.

A 2-18 to 0-12 win sealed another provincial win for Donegal, four years on from their last, and social media was gushing about the Tir Chonaill men.

Donegal, after wins in Ulster over Cavan, Derry, Down and Fermanagh, go into the Super 8s and will face Dublin on the weekend of July 15.

Eoghan Ban Gallagher and Ryan McHugh hit the Donegal goals in today’s rout.

No qualms about it, Donegal are a serious team. Averaging c. 2-18 in 4 ulster championship games is unbelievable. Ryan Mchugh is possibly the best player in the country and there’s a few others not far behind him…

Another unreal performance from @officialdonegal Ulster Champions. Great momentum moving forward now!! What an atmosphere today, the Donegal fans really are unbelievable 💚💛 @TheSundayGame #DonegalAbu

And another thing. Michael Murphy continues to amaze with the way he carries the role of captain. Didn’t miss a trick in his speech. Another big plus this year has been the improvement of Eoghan Bans running. Hugely improved as a player in the last 12 months. Great kid

Michael Murphy's fourth Ulster title as captain. Think only Kieran McGeeney, with five as captain, has more.

Weirdly, Donegal's full-back line scored more from play than the full-forward line.

Imagine being corner forward and being on Eoghan Ban Gallagher 🙈🙈

"Easier" paths to the final have been lost. Can only beat what is in front of them and Donegal's average of 2-19 in 4 games is the highest in the history of the Ulster Championship.

A credit to this team and its management. And a damning indictment of last year's management.

So lets get this straight before we go any further in the #GAA calendar year; #Donegal are being wrote off as challenges for Sam Maguire because of weak opposition in Ulster yet #Dublin and #Kerry run riot in Leinster and Munster but they’re heavily favoured as contenders? 🤔

— Gary Wilson (@G_Wils89) June 24, 2018

Donegal averaging 2-19 this year is serious going. Eoghan Ban was phenomenal today. Bigger tests ahead but shaping up well. #UlsterChamps

Eoghan Bán Gallagher, Ulster Footballer of Year.

Not sure who will get MOTM today. We had 13 scorers. EBG/Paul/Ryan/Michael probably.

Watching Fermanagh reminded me of watching Donegal last year.

Winning Ulster came a year earlier than I expected but I'm so very grateful.

Brilliant display again from Donegal great 2 b Ulster champions again, some record since 2011 and hopefully this is the start of another run again…. bring on the super 8’s pic.twitter.com/RTiVTPSTEZ

Never mind the World Cup- congrats to Donegal, Ulster champions again.
