Convoy Joint National School first to achieve 10 Green Flags

Convoy Joint National School is the first school in Donegal to achieve 10 Green Flags and show their outstanding long-term commitment to environmental education.

This achievement was marked by Cllr Patrick McGowan Chair of the Stranorlar Municipal District when he presented the school with a Certificate of Achievement recognising their efforts over the years at a special event to celebrate this outstanding achievement.

During a special day of celebrations on Thursday last (21st June) the school raised their 10th Green Flag in front of pupils, families and invited guests. The schools latest Green Flag has been awarded for their work on the theme Global Citizenship Marine Environment while they continue to maintain all other themes over the past 20 years.

Together with raising the Green Flag the school also unveiled a new mural celebrating our oceans in the school shelter painted by local artist Martin McDaid.
